Abraxos is a handsome one-year old male Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on June 8, 2022 after he was picked up on Smith Hill Road (off State Route 26) by the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden. Abraxos was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
Abraxos has a black medium-haired coat with brown/brindle highlights, a long tail, and a beautiful face with characteristic features of the Shepherd breed including magnificent large erect ears.
Abraxos has a happy, outgoing personality and adored attention from HSOV Kennel Tech Hayley Sturm during his photo session. Abraxos only had eyes for Hayley and was a wanna-be lap dog. Surely someone has showered this young guy with attention in the past.
Abraxos weighs 40 lbs and could easily gain a few pounds to fill out his slim trim boyish figure. He is fairly energetic on a leash and quite playful (and often gives little 'puppy nips' while playing).
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Abraxos will be held for three days so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership.
Since he was not reclaimed, Abraxos was neutered on July 15, 2022 and was also given rabies vaccine.

Abraxos (Neutered), a Marietta Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Marietta.
Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
