My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Addison, and I have been with SEVA GRREAT since last fall. I have NO idea
why I haven’t been adopted yet, except for one small thing. OK, maybe it’s a bigger deal than I
think since I’m not really a golden retriever. But I have many golden traits, so let me tell you all
about myself.
- I absolutely love to snuggle and be near my people
- I also enjoy playing and being active, but I am not at all hyper. I really like playing in the
yard or going for walks, and also love a good romp in the dog park.
- I have two canine foster siblings who I love – we get along great for the most part, other
than those occasional sibling spats over a favorite toy.
- I am really smart and super food-motivated (maybe that should be # 1 on my list of
golden traits). Seriously, I learn really easily and aim to please. I am housebroken, crate
trained, and walk well on a leash unless there are too many distractions. I can’t help it if I
want to chase all those annoying squirrels. Sometimes I bark at other dogs and people on
walks, but I have gotten much better about that.
- I should get “bonus points” for this – I shed less than a golden (or at least my hair is
shorter), so that means less vacuuming!

What’s the catch, you say?? That’s just it – there really isn’t a catch, but here are a few more
things to know about me.
- At some point I managed to partially tear my CCL (knee) and had TPLO surgery in
January. But I am fully recovered from that and was the model patient during my
recovery.
- Young children and lots of sudden movements tend to make me nervous. I have been
known to play a little rough and nip during play, so I would be best in a home with either
older children or no children at all.
- I do tend to get a little anxious meeting new people and get overwhelmed with excited
greetings. But if you take it slow with me and allow me to get to know you, I will soon be
your best friend.
My foster parents have been working hard with me and they say I am an amazing dog. If you
think you might be my forever family and live in southeastern Virginia, please submit an adoption application at www.adoptagolden.com so you can make
arrangements to meet me! If you have any other questions about me, feel free to email fostering@adoptagolden.com.
