My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I AM IN THE SENIORS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM! This means that my adoption fee is waived for anyone over the age of 65.

Hello world, my name is Mitro. Boy-oh-boy, do I have a story for you! A few weeks ago, I got stuck outside in a massive thunderstorm. So picture this, you're a small, older cat all alone, nowhere to go for safety and comfort when this storm breaks. All you can do is press your body as hard as possible up against the wall of a house and shield your face. There's thunder and lightening all around. There was only one thing on my mind: "keep your head up Mitro, you will get through this." Suddenly, you look up and through the downpour of rain comes a kind man. The rain was coming down so hard that it physically hurt to get hit by the drops. When I saw him coming, I knew help had arrived. He scooped me up, protected me from the torrent of rain and took me inside somewhere warm and dry. I immediately felt so grateful. This kind man called the rescue and here I am. Before I knew it, I was in a nice warm foster home, playing with toys, cuddling with my foster parents and eating some delicious meals. I love the indoor life! I wouldn’t have lasted much longer out there, that very well could have been my last thunderstorm. Now, I’m ready to bring my love to you!

I’m an 8-year-old boy who is full of love and affection. I love to have conversations with people and, for some reason, my foster parents go CRAZY over the sound of my voice. Something about the adorable, high-pitched sounds I make. They laugh and giggle about it. I guess I’m just a natural at being cute! Are you ready to open up your heart to a loving, squeaky and friendly, sweet boy? If so, I’d love to meet you! Apply today! Adoption fee: $75. Adopt a pair: $110. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
