My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is REESE'S PUPPYCUPS. I got my name because he I am a beautiful dog who kind of, a little bit, resembles a peanut butter cup. And I am every bit as sweet as well. But you can call me Reese for short.

Here is a brief synopsis about me:
Breed: Anatolian shepherd mix
Age: 4 years
Gender: Female
Weight: 66 lbs
Height: 23-1/2 inches

Energy level - moderate

I'm good with dogs, though best if they are a chill or passive personality, as I like to be mother hen. It appears I am not really very good with cats however, so I need a feline free home.

My story began in the streets of a a major city in the Middle East when I was found by my rescuers, roaming the streets with only three legs. I was emaciated and dehydrated and struggling to stay alive. It is hard enough for four-legged dogs to survive in a city where we are considered vermin. But disabled dogs like me have to fight off both people and other dogs to survive.

Luckily for me, I was brought to Vancouver by Loved at Last and am now happily living in a foster home here. My foster dad says I have the gentlest, kindest personality. I adore meeting new people and will happily roll over on my back to encourage belly rubs

My foster dad says I am very smart and curious about my new world here in Canada. But I am also a bit frightened by it. It is understandable after all I have gone through to be still be unsure if I am now safe. So I remain vigilant about my surroundings when out in the world. I am still worried that I may be hurt. But every day I am gradually gaining confidence. Despite my nervousness, I don’t have an ounce of aggression towards people in me. They just don’t come much gentler than me.

At home I love playing games with my foster dad. We play puzzles and hide the treats. I softly pick my way around the blanket to find the treats hidden there. Because I am intelligent and very eager to please, I am easy to train. I am loyal and loving and will be ever so grateful to be your best friend.

Here are a couple more vids of me:

I may be a tripaw, but I can do everything my four legged friends can do. I am the perfect example that dogs are three legged creatures with a spare.

I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped

My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.

The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.

Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.

*Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.

More about this rescue

Loved At Last Dog Rescue operates in the Greater Vancouver area. We rescue and rehome local dogs as well as homeless dogs from numerous countries around the world, including Mexico, Korea, China, Iran, Kuwait, Bahrain and India. Many of these dogs have experienced hardship and cruelty yet they are gentle and loving. We have found that dogs who have experienced suffering appreciate every kindness shown them. All our dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped and those over 6 months are spayed or neutered.
