When you share your adoption story with us, we’ll send you free deals on pet parent favorites like Greenies, Royal Canin, Whistle smart devices, Wisdom DNA tests, and more.
Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and heartworm negative
House / Crate Trained: Yes to both
Dog / Cat Friendly: Yes to both
Leash Trained: She does pretty good, unless highly distracted by “friends” or squirrels
Energy Level: HIGH! Katy is very active and loves to run and play. She would do best in a home with another playful dog. Katy is submissive to other dogs, but very rough in play when she finds a friend who will wrestle with her.
Before FAR: Katy and her boyfriend were neighborhood strays. The local Animal Control was called when it appeared that Katy might have become pregnant. Katy has been in the rescue’s care since a month before her babies were born.
Things she likes: running and playing with canine friends, Nylabones, plush toys to destroy, treats (lots of treats!), nice places to nap (a human’s lap, doggy beds, couches, beds)
Things she doesn’t like: Katy is a very happy girl – there isn’t much of anything she doesn’t like
Working on: Not chewing items not designated for her. If Katy is left alone – and not in a crate – for an extended period of time, she has occasionally found other things to chew on. Her favorite is shoes.
Ideal Family / Home: Katy should have at least one canine playmate – another high energy dog with whom she can play, run and wrestle.
Katy's pups have all moved on to their furever homes, and Katy is still waiting! If you are interested in giving this sweet mama a furever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt; however, it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Our adoption process starts with the potential adopter filling out an adoption application. In the application, you can specify a particular dog in which you are interested, or let us know what type of pet in which you are looking, so we can find the perfect animal to fit your family and your needs. Once the application is received, a board member will review the application, and make contact with the potential adopter within 48 hours. This initial contact may include further questions/more information, or may include scheduling a meet and greet for you to meet the animal in which you are interested! Once the application is approved or the meet and greet goes well, then the adoption can be finalized. To finalize the adoption, an adoption agreement must be completed, the adoption fee paid (we accept cash, paypal, or credit/debit card), and then the potential adopter can take their new family member home with them or schedule pick up of their furry family member! The adoption fee varies based on the dog or puppy you are interested in. Some of the adoption fees have been listed on the individual dog's description but if you do not see one then please reach out and we would be happy to talk to you about it! If you are interested in any of our animals, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!!

More about this rescue
Furever After Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, is a no-kill, foster-based rescue devoted to finding homes for animals needing a loving home. Most of our animals come from local, high-kill shelters with some occasionally coming from bad situations and owner surrender. Our animals are immediately placed in foster homes where they learn love and are taught how to live in a home environment. All of our animals are up-to-date on their age-appropriate vetting needs and are tested for personality traits as best as possible. We have many wonderful pets looking for forever homes!
