My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammy boy here. I'm so excited to share my story with you all.

I am just over 15 years old and have lived my best life so far. I have always been in the same household as my sister Sadie, which is why I have been exposed to being around at least another cat my entire life. I was not introduced to other cats or dogs outside of the cat I was already living with but have gotten some exposure in the shelter being around other cats and have done fine. One thing that really makes me happy throughout the day is knowing that I get some catio time with sunshine and a cool breeze. I do enjoy bird watching when lounging out on the catio.

I came to MaxFund in June of this year and although I am enjoying my stay, I would really like to be out of here in my new home environment. I was relinquished to this shelter because my parents of 15 years decided they were wanting a change in lifestyle. Moved to North Carolina and did not want to stress me out with the drive there and figured I would benefit best in this environment for a while. It has taken some time to adjust to my surroundings but so far so good! I am ready to find my new pet parent(s).

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
