My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How YOU Doin? I'm Joey, one of the best Friends you are ever going to have. Now, I might be younger than some of my other friends, like Monica or Chandler, but I am sweet and street-wise. See, like my other friend Phoebe, I lived on the streets for a while and saw the best and worst of people as a result, and I have some emotional and physical scars to prove it.

Even though I am younger than one year old, I have lived quite a bit and learned to be quite cautious because the people and other animals that you meet late at night in the city don't always have the best intentions for a small boy like me, so when you come into my room, I might be a bit standoffish at first, but sit down on the floor, and I will come right over to you, especially if you have a wand toy for me to play with.

Now, like that other Joey, people tend to judge me by my good looks, and I won't be modest about it: I am gorgeous, and I know it. Why should I deny it, I mean look at me!? You will also see that far from just being pretty, I have a cool scar thanks to the people who captured me on the street, had me fixed, and released me. See, the person who snipped my ear to show that I was "fixed" went a bit overboard and snipped off more than I would have wanted, but I think it makes me look quite ruggedly handsome. (No one asked me if I thought I was broken and in need of fixing, by the way, but I do feel remarkably better now that I am "fixed.")

So, if you are looking for a great new "will they or won't they" romance, like Ross and Rachel, come on by and meet me, and if you are looking for a new Friend, even when it hasn't been your day, your week, or even your year, I'll be there for you.

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
