My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sawyer is perhaps the perfect dog!

This precious boy has had a really rough life but you’d never know it by his amazing demeanor!

This guy is sweet, calm, super dog friendly and playful, smart, obedient, crate trained but fine to leave loose in the house (not destructive), housebroken, rides great in the car, walks well on a leash and is just one of the coolest dogs you will ever meet!

He’s been let down by so many people including his previous owner who let him get heart worms. He deserves nothing but the best from now on.

We had him treated for heart worms and is doing well. Now it’s time for him to find an amazing home that he SO deserves!

Sawyer is a hound mix, about 55 pounds and approximately 4-5 years old.

His home requirements will have a fenced yard as he loves to prance around and play, another dog in the house and older kids (10 years old +).*

If interested in possibly meeting him, please go to www.freedomfarmrescue.com to fill out an application. We just like to know a little about you prior to a meet and greet.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

. First, the potential adopter will fill out the Adoption Application which will then be reviewed, the information on the application will be verified, and references will be checked. Then, if the application is approved, a home inspection will be conducted, which will lead to a Meet and Greet with the potential adopter’s entire family and pets to ensure that the home and family will be a good match for the FFR dog.

If the applicant is approved and the environment is a good fit, the adoption will be finalized with an adoption fee to the rescue and the signing of an Adoption Contract.

More about this rescue

Freedom Farm Rescue’s mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, rehabilitate and ultimately to find permanent loving homes for abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. We are located in Charlotte, NC.

Most rescued dogs need to re-learn how to be beloved companions and our dedicated volunteers provide that to them through love, training, and therapy.

We closely evaluate the temperament and personality of the dogs and take into consideration the nature of the breed before placing them in their forever homes. This is done to further prevent the abandonment of dogs by closely aligning the dog's personality and needs with an owner's lifestyle.

Our goal is to place animals in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process and educating prospective owners as necessary about the responsibilities and costs of bringing an animal into their homes and lives.

Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations across the country to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
