My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola came into ARF's care (along with Lucky) on 5/23/22 surrendered by an owner who had a demanding work schedule. Lola is about 2 years old, 14 pounds, and a min pin and chihuahua mix. (Her DNA test also showed pom, poodle, and beagle!) It takes her a little while to warm up to new people, but once she does, she's a lap dog.  She will sit, give paw, and dance for her treats. She walks on a leash and loves to play with stuffed babies, especially those with squeakers!  Lola lived with Lucky, but her previous experience made her bossy with him!  After having lived with big dogs who took everything from her, she became a resource guarder. She doesn't like to share her food, her toys, or her people. She guards her things like a bird on an egg! She adores her person, but she will guard her people, too, and not let another dog near them! Lola has never had an accident in the house, and she is described as a sweet, fun girl in the right situation.  Her guarding issues dictate that she must be an only dog with adult parents and no kids or kitties unless strict boundaries are kept. A retired couple (or person) with a fenced yard and no other pets would be her ideal situation. Lola would be happy and they would love her! Lola gives indications (like flinching) that she has been hit at some previous time.  Who knows what this little girl has been through? She was given her first DHPP on intake and her second on 6/19/22.  At her first vet visit on 6/9/22, Lola received a 3-year rabies, bordatella, 4DX (negative), fecal (positive for whip worms) and treated with drontal.  Her flea and tick protection (Nexgard) has been kept up-to-date. She was spayed on 6/15/22 and has healed nicely. She sleeps overnight in her crate, keeps it clean, and doesn't tear up her bedding.  Lola deserves her chance at a home where someone will understand her and love her quirks and all! Is your home the perfect home for Lola?
