My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe has completely stolen her foster parents' hearts. She is an 8-year-old Chihuahua who is very small and very manageable (~6 pounds).

Her favorite activity in the world is cuddling with someone on the couch. She doesn’t bark (even when someone enters the house!) and is completely potty trained. She was abandoned behind a Chili’s restaurant and was found in the dumpster. Her previous owners were located with the help of a microchip, but they said they did not want her anymore and surrendered to us.

She is extremely hand shy, though this is slowly improving now that she is in a loving and safe space with her fosters. Despite all the hardships she has endured, she is the sweetest, most fun loving dog in the world. Chloe is great with other dogs and cats. She loves to be active, too -- she goes on 15-20 minute walks twice a day, and she's lost a bit of weight, which has improved her overall health and mobility.

Chloe is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, has had a recent dental cleaning, and is negative for Heartworm and Lyme Disease. She has seen the vet for possible seizure activity, but her blood work looks great--Our vet recommends monitoring her for now and an adopter should speak with their vet about possible options for how to proceed with care for this. This little lady is so ready to be someone's darling. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
