My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 1/7/23: Meet Krypto! If you have been following us then you know we have had this little dude for awhile. Krypto likes men and big soft dog beds. He would be your buddy during a football game ! Krypto has had a few trust issues and doesn’t like to be pushed beyond his comfort level (but who does!) He sure would like a sunny backyard and a soft bed. No children please.

Krypto has emotional baggage. He needs a person with the ability to help him with the proper training and the experience to know that he depends on you to help him make the best decisions. Super smart like all JRTs are. Need a partner who understands him and never takes him for granted. He is around 8YO

Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made.

The application is the first step. Please complete the adoption (or foster) application here:

We do not have any paid staff members. We are 100% volunteer powered. Thx for your patience.

More about this rescue

Russell Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization. It was started in 2008 by Mary Ruth Rogers of Columbia, TN. Our mission is to save and re-home unloved, abandoned and abused dogs, especially the Jack Russell terrier. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Tennessee, and other nearby states.
