Meet Lucy! This spunky senior girl was brought to a local animal hospital to be euthanized and is now enjoying her own comfortable office space in a foster home.
Lucy is the absolute best work-from-home companion, cuddling and sleeping on a soft blanket for most of the day. She'll often wake up from a nap and purr with delight, which is so precious to witness! She loves head pets, nuzzling her foster parents and playing with toys when she gets a burst of energy. Lucy is also a bit of a comedian, offering the sassiest side eye and meows when she's ready to eat.
Lucy was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and mild kidney disease, which is easily managed with medicine that she takes with her meals. She is also on a strict weight management diet to help maintain weight loss. Lucy must be the only pet in the household and cannot be placed with small children.
Lucy would be an amazing companion to a lowkey home that is able to dedicate the time and attention to her that she deserves! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: Calico Weight: 13.6 Age: 12yrs 8mths 0wks

More about this shelter
Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.
To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
