My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Tessie. I'm about a year old. I am a real love bug!  I'm not sure why or how, but I suddenly found myself lost on the streets in Camden, NJ. I was hungry and scared, but I mustered up enough courage to walk up to a very kind woman and told her that I was lost and confused. I wasn't sure if my family abandoned me or if I just wondered too far from home. All I know is that I was scared, hungry and alone. This very kind woman picked me up, hugged me, told me that everything would be OK and took me to her home. She showed me lots of love, but unfortunately could not keep me because she already had many other cats that she also rescued. She reached out to the very kind folks at BCAA and they agreed to help find me a foster family who would love and care for me until I found my FUREVER HOME.  I'm a good girl who uses the litter box, and I am very well behaved. I'm a real chatterbox and I just love to tell humans how much I love all of the attention that they are willing to give me. Do you have room in your home and heart to make me part of your loving family? I promise that you won't be disappointed having me as part of you loving family!

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
