Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sammy is a gentle giant!
This 9 year old boy has unbelievably good manners, including using the little box, using his favorite scratching post, and gently tapping your leg with his sweet paw when he wants more pets.
Sammy is a Maine coon (one of the oldest breeds in America!) with long, fluffy gray hair. His coat is easily maintained because he loves to be brushed.
Sammy would be great in a family with kids and/or dogs. He has lived with both previously. Due to being FIV+, Sammy must be the only cat in the house, must be indoor oly, and must go to a home in Kansas only per state laws.
FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus) is extremely common in cats and is only contracted from one cat to another through deep bites or through birth. FIV+ cats can live completely normal lives with regular vet visits. No medication or special treatment is necessary.
Sammy’s size and personality is unlike any other cat! He’s extremely grateful for his family and would be an exception companion to anyone who is lucky enough to adopt him.
If you are interested in meeting Sammy, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoptionapplication and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. This will get you the fastest response.
Sammy's adoption fee is $75 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, recent dental cleaning, and testing for feline leukemia.
All cats adopted from The Rescue Project are intended to be indoor only cats.
