My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Max, an adult cat with a heart as warm as a summer's day. His sweet, mellow nature makes him the perfect companion for those seeking a quiet, gentle friend.Max is a little shy, but with a bit of patience, his friendly personality shines through. He's independent, but loves to be petted and will happily curl up beside you for a nap after a hearty meal. Max shares a special bond with his friend, Majesty. They're inseparable, their connection a testament to their loyalty and love. They must be adopted together, promising double the joy and companionship. His love for food, sleep, and affectionate pets make him a delight to be around. Give Max a chance, and he'll fill your home with tranquility and warmth.

More about this shelter

The Gananoque & District Humane Society (GDHS) is a volunteer run no kill animal shelter that takes in abandoned or surrendered animals, provides them with medical care and attempts to find them forever homes. Every animal that enters GDHS is quarantined, assessed and examined by a vet (if necessary), spayed or neutered, microchipped, and given vaccinations prior to being available for adoption. We do not receive guaranteed funding from any source and rely on the generosity of our community.
