My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Grogu (affectionately called Gru) is a 1.5 year old 60+lb, tri-colored Australian Shepherd. He is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative and microchipped.

Gru has excellent kennel manners. He goes right into his kennel at night with the “kennel” command and sleeps quietly through the night. He does very well with his house manners and has only had one urinary accident indoors. This was when he first arrived to his foster home and it has not happened a second time. Gru knows “sit” and “wait” for his food.

Gru gets along with every dog he meets and loves all women and children (or anyone for that matter), Gru does not do well getting his collar grabbed and tugged on (this is really his only flaw) so children that are older (over the age of 12) who can respect boundaries would be best. It takes Gru a little bit longer to warm up to his male human companions so will need someone who will give him the time and patience required.

Gru does not like friends of the feline kind and should not be in a household that includes cats. Gru enjoys water and going on outdoor adventures. He also has a great “off switch” and will be calm indoors and cuddle on the couch with his family. Gru is a very quiet guy and barks very rarely, even when other dogs are barking. He is submissive towards alfa dogs.

Gru is being fostered in the Birmingham, Alabama area. If you think that Grogu is a great fit for your family, please fill out our application.
