My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PING

Shepherd cross, 1 year old, 45 lbs.

SPECIAL NEEDS

Ping came to us as a baby, with a face full of ticks. Soon after arriving she developed an unknown illness, which started with a fever and progressed to rapidly deteriorating physiological symptoms. She recovered from the illness, however, the neuromuscular impairment remained. After months of intensive physical therapy, Ping is able to live a *mostly* normal life with a few accommodations.

Accommodations

•Ping doesn't currently drink water in a meaningful way, so her food is soaked in water and given twice a day to make sure she gets enough hydration.

•Ping isn't left unattended, as she can knock into things too easily. Luckily she is great in her kennel.

•Training with Ping will take time and patience as she learns a bit differently than other dogs.

•Due to neurological damage from the illness, Ping's movements can be unpredictable and her response to stimulus can be unusual.

A successful adopter should be willing to accept Ping where she is, and have the strength and patience to support her as she develops.

She is a goofy girl, who runs away from chihuahuas and loves everyone she meets.

•Good in cars

•Crate trained

•Not a chewer

•Dogs of all sizes okay but probably recommend those who are not older or grouchy with a bouncing bundle of joy.

•Potty training is unknown, as she doesn't have free roam in her foster home. She is best on a schedule.

•Does have specific dietary requirements.

•Needs a large yard with full fencing.

•No small children

•No cats

The list of needs may be long for Miss Ping, but the reward of her happy life will be the gift that you’ll be grateful for with each passing day.
