My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This dog is located in Houston, TX but is available for transport to this area. The adoption fee includes transport as well.

Athena is 2 years old and the BEST dog. She is potty trained, got great house manners, good with kids, dogs and all people. She is crate trained, loves to play fetch, is so good she goes to daycare weekly and is LOVED there by all the employees. She would make a wonderful family dog and is ready for her new, forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, negative for heartworm disease and current on heartworm and flea preventative. She has no known medical issues and is a healthy active pup. Please email westhoustonanimalrescue@gmail.com for more info or an application!

All our pups are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention.

Our adoption process starts with an application and a vet reference.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $450 to fly your dog to the nearest airport that (1) has a direct flight from Houston, TX and (2) can accommodate the size travel crate your dog would fly in. If there is no direct flight, then we do have to schedule flights with layovers. We only use United Airlines because of their PetSafe Program. They are the only airline equipped to fly dogs in year-round weather conditions. The dogs get the same air and heat as in the passenger cabin.

More about this rescue

We rescue dogs from the streets of Houston, TX, vet them, recuperate them from health problems, bring them to full health and then work very hard to get them adopted out-of-state. Houston, TX has over ONE MILLION stray dogs. Thousands of perfectly healthy dogs, along with sick and dying dogs that are picked up, are euthanized every single day. Houston, TX is saturated with dogs. Everyone who WANTS a dog HAS a dog. We can only save lives by getting dogs out of our region. We have found the very best adopters in the Northeast and Northwest U. S. and Canada.
