Meet Mindy, an adorable 9 year old,11 lb, cream colored Shih Tzu girl. She is a sweet soul who enjoys being outside in her fenced backyard, car rides, belly rubs, playing with toys and her K9 foster siblings. Even though Mindy can have her spurts of energy, her goal in life is to be your sidekick and fellow “couch potato”. She is a retired breeding kennel mamma, and like most of these pups, she needs a quiet home, and another dog to continue to learn from and help her adjust to her new life.
She is house trained and leash trained (she loves walks), but she has not been able to manage stairs. She would need a one level home or someone who will be able to carry her up and down stairs as needed.
Mindy loves her humans but is slow to warm up to new people. She would do best in a home that has adults only or older children. Mindy is dog AND cat tested and is fostering in western PA.

Shih Tzu and Furbaby Rescue, Inc. is a national rescue organization that is dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of toy purebred and mixed breed dogs. We accept dogs in need from shelters, other rescuers, and individuals giving up their pets for a variety of reasons. Our furbabies are examined and treated by our veterinarians, innoculated, and spayed or neutered before placement. They are also thoroughly temperament assessed. We believe that, somewhere, there is a home for every dog, but that we have a responsibility to place our dogs into homes that will best meet their needs, both physically and emotionally. We look for people with patience and loving hearts, and an understanding of the furbaby mind.
