My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sphinx is a beautiful one-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on July 30, 2022 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who had picked her up at Kreamy Kreations on Greene Street in Marietta Ohio. Sphinx may have been waiting for a cool dish of ice cream since the temperature and humidity were both high that day. Sphinx was not wearing a collar, so we hope that she has a family who is searching for her.

Sphinx has a shiny black short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable triangular-shaped face with large golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers.

This young lady has a mystical rather oriental-looking facial appearance and is quite the beauty. Sphinx posed for some sweet pictures for a short while, but she really wanted out of her small cage to stretch her long slender legs.

Sphinx was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on July 30, 2022. She was also combo tested and is negative for feline leukemia, FIV, and heartworm. Sphinx weighed 7.6 lbs that day.

Since Sphinx was not reclaimed, she was scheduled to be spayed on August 22, 2022 so that we could find her a fabulous home. But much to our surprise, the veterinarian who examined Sphinx determined that she was most likely pregnant .. So she is looking instead for a a foster mother or a rescue group who would offer her a quiet home environment where she could await the birth of her babies.

Sphinx gave birth to seven healthy kittens on September 16, 2022. We would love to find a foster home or a rescue group for Sphinx and her babies.

UPDATE 10/16/2022: Sphinx' babies just celebrated their one-month old birthdays and are very active happy kittens. There are six little girls and one little boy.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.
