Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Max is the sweetest and gentlest German Shepard mix ever! A real poet’s soul in a footballer’s body. The most GSD thing about him is he has got a big bark that he likes to use to alert you to new people, dogs, and animals approaching the house. Inside, with a little time and space, he ends up just giving everyone (people and dogs!) kisses and the sweetest nose bops. He’s definitely a lover, not a fighter.
Max would enjoy a quiet, calm home with a yard. He walks well on a leash (no pulling!) but can be stressed in new and busy places. His favorite activities are sunning himself in the yard, playing with his besties, and resting quietly in his crate for you get to get back home and get lots of kisses.
-- trainable
-- moderate energy, very calm in the home
- crate trained
- house broken
- ridiculously sweet
- would love a role model dog in the home
- will most likely do fine with cats given proper intros
$300 adoption donation includes first shots, dewormed, flea tick treated, microchip w/ free lifetime registry + Spay/Neuter addendum agreement.
Interested in adopting?
1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application
2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call!
3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home
Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time.
