My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Croissant

Breed: Hound Mix

Size: Medium

Age: 1.5 years

Fence: Required

Apartment Friendly: No

Kids: Unknown but probably not for this guy

Potty and Crate Training: Getting there

Other Dogs: Must have another dog in the home

Introducing Croissant, the hound mix with a French twist! Just like the French can be a bit stand-offish at first, Croissant takes his time to warm up to new people. But just like the magic of a French connection, once he gets to know you, he'll shower you with love and affection like no other. Croissant's initial shyness is just part of his unique charm, and it's all worth it when you see his heart melt and his tail wag with joy as he embraces his forever person/people.

Ideal Home/Adopter: Clearly you must love French pastries, but you also want to give back and do good in the world. And you don't mind a little project. Croissants looking for a patient and dedicated adopter who can help him blossom and overcome his shyness with people. A little dedicated training is what our boy needs! A household where someone works from home is the perfect fit for this diamond in the rough. Croissant's new home should have a fenced backyard and another doggy companion, as he absolutely adores the company of other dogs.

Personality: Croissant's shy but blossoming personality shines through in his interactions with other dogs. He loves to shower his foster dog siblings with kisses, showing just how much love he has to give.  And once he has figured out he is your forever pastry, expect a lot of doggie kisses.

Likes: Croissant finds immense joy in shredding stuffy toys. His playfulness comes to life when surrounded by other dogs, and he cherishes every moment with them.

Challenges: Croissant's journey to finding his forever home involves overcoming his fear of people other than his foster parent. He still hasn't fully warmed up to others but has had positive interactions with family and friends who live outside of his foster home. This will require patience and understanding from his adopter. Additionally, Croissant is working on his potty training and crate training and needs someone who is committed to helping him gain confidence in these areas.

With a patient and loving family, he'll blossom into the wonderful companion he's meant to be. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a shy but lovable pup, Croissant is eagerly waiting to become your devoted furry friend. Take a chance on this special hound mix, and together, you can create a beautiful journey of love and growth.

More about this rescue

RESCUEDohio was founded on August 1, 2015 by a group of dedicated animal lovers in the central Ohio area. The founders came from various different vocational backgrounds, but all have one thing in common: the passion to save dogs. Before starting RESCUEDohio, they were previously involved in different aspects of rescue, including fostering, fundraising, coordinating and training. The mission of this group is to help find homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs and to advocate for the rights of all animals everywhere.
