Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Athena" is a purebred Dogo Argentino (no papers, but parents were seen at time of rescue).
She is a very sweet girl, but she can be a whirlwind, with the combination of size and speed. She loves everyone she has ever met, but could easily bowl over a small child, or someone who is less steady on their feet. A sturdy adopter is recommended.
She has been well socialized while in our care, and loves going on little mini trips to store/restaurants etc. She does great in the car, loads and unloads herself without issues, doesn't get car sick, so she makes for a great companion.
She plays very well with most of the dogs at our rescue, but she is strong minded, and will not tolerate another female dog trying to bully her.
We have had her around a variety of other dogs, including a male half her size, who was being rambunctious, and testing her patience, and she just ignored him and removed herself from the situation...
Athena simply loves water, as long as she can stand up, she's not a fan of swimming, but loves laying in her kiddie pool.
She's a gorgeous dog, and would make a great addition to the right family.
We have reduced her adoption fee, because we don't feel that it's fair for her to essentially grow up at the rescue, she deserves a family and home to call her own.
