Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Heidi is a sweet & fun loving girl who had a bad start in life. She was found tied to a tree in TN as a very young dog. Since then she's gone to OH & then here to VA. I planned to keep Heidi here with me but running a rescue means having many different dogs thru the house at any given time (I have a large pack!). Heidi doesn't thrive in an environment like that & will do best with a smaller pack of only one or two other doggy companions, possibly as many as 3 or 4 in the right situation. She would probaby do fine as an only dog as well, if her human works part of the time from home.
Heidi loves toys & chews like bully sticks & Himalayan chews. She crates well & will do ANYthing for food, as all scent hounds do!
The other thing that Heidi does is howl, like any good scent hound! Because of that, she wouldn't do well in an apartment or condo. She should also have a fenced yard to get her energy out. She would also thrive with some obedience training or even agility. She loves to please her people.
I even had a Wisdom DNA panel done on her so I know for a fact that she's 58% Treeing Walker Coonhound, 24% Plott Hound, with a few other breeds mixed in.
Heidi has also gone to work with me & done very well. She's great in an office with a short baby gate up at the door.
This girl just needs to find the RIGHT family for her where she can be doted on all the time.
