My story

Margarita came into the shelter with a terrible wound on the toes of her right hind foot, and she appeared to have recently had puppies. Unfortunately, there were no puppies found, and Margarita was sent to the vet to get checked out and implement a treatment plan. When she came to Hero, we had to continue her treatment which included a salve and frequent bandage changes. Who knew that Margarita would LOVE the process!? When changing her bandages, she would lay on her back between her fosters legs to remove her old bandage, and re-bandage her foot all the while enjoying the attention!!

Margarita is so sweet and silly! She enjoys cuddling on the sofa and is VERY food motivated. So, training will be very easy. She is a bit of a counter surfer, but we are working on that. She is housebroken, and crate trained.

In her foster home, there are many other dogs and 3 intrepid cats. She has two dogs that she just loves playing with. One dog is very large, and the other is tiny. She totally ignores the kitties.
Margarita’s wound is slowly healing. She may need to wear a boot to protect her toes, but she is ok with that. She will never be a candidate for agility training! LOL!

She is very aware when anyone comes near the house, so she will let you know when anyone comes near. She isn’t a really big dog, but she has a very big bark!

This sweet girl is ready to start her next chapter in life and would love to find a family of her own.
Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Why adoption is a great option

Margarita, a CUMMING Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in CUMMING, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in CUMMING.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in CUMMING already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a CUMMING breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in CUMMING paves the way for another one to be saved.
