My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oreo is a younger boy, probably about 1 YO +/- a couple of months. Seems like he is reaching the end of his puppy phase. He loves people and other dogs. Definitely a goofball personality, but is very trainable and eager to please. Already potty trained, knows sit and lay down, working on kennel training and other commands, but generally does well with routine. Does seem to have some separation anxiety that results in hyper salivating, but has not shown any destructive tendencies in his foster home.April 26, 2024, 12:06 am

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

2.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

By appointment only. We do not do facility tours, but will recommend pets based on the adoption application and desires of the adopter.

3.

Meet the Pet

We will have a staff bring the animal to you and give you the opportunity to walk and interact with the pet to see how they respond / react.

4.

Interview

Informal meeting to review anything we see on the application, or during the meeting to ensure a good fit for the pet and the adopter.

5.

Approve Application

Senior staff will review the application, interview, and meeting notes to approve, or deny all applicants.

6.

Home Check

We do a home check for all animals to make sure that there are no obvious dangers and to see how the animal behaves / responds to the home.

7.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption contract will have specific terms regarding treatment, re-homing, and etc. Payment will be required at this time as well.

Additional adoption info

Due to the small size of our rescue and limited resources, our adoption process will typically take a few days from start to finish.

More about this rescue

Sooty’s Sanctuary is a group of concerned citizens, volunteers, and fosters, dedicated to giving a better life to the countless homeless pets, and petless homes. We are pending our 501(c)(3), but are none-the-less a non-profit organization, so every cent donated will go directly to the pets and our efforts to re-home them.
