My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who's the new love of your life? Who. Who? I told you: who. Who's who? Me! OK, enough with the dad jokes, but I am an old gal, so you can't blame me. I am the amazing Who, a beautiful, sweet, 13yr young lady who really will warm your heart as soon as you come to meet me. I have been a bit down lately as my brother and I were given up by our human mama after living together for most of our lives. It was so traumatic on all of us, including our human, who needed to relinquish us because she moved in with people who were allergic to cats. It was especially hard on me as my brother looked out for me and was really outgoing so was quickly adopted once we got here, leaving me all alone. I have also been put on some thyroid medication, but that doesn't bother me too much as it is so easy to take, but it was another change to get used to. The good thing is that there are other nice cats here even if I am really shy and don't get out much. I guess I am a bit of an introvert now that I have experienced this heartbreak. Here at the shelter, I have a great domed bed that allows me to hide out when I want and watch all the action in my room from safety and warmth. I do get along with children and other calm cats who respect my space. I have a nice toy mouse that I like, but my favorite thing to do is cuddle. Boy, can I cuddle better than most. Especially if you walk up to my second story apartment, I will rub up against you, give you kisses, and rest my head on your shoulder.

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
