Katie AKA Kitty was adopted to a home as a companion for the owner whose spouse had recently passed away. She wanted a companion. Now the owner has mobility and health issues that makes her unable to care for the cat in a safe manner. Kitty is now 7 years old. Kitty is an independent cat. She sleeps most of the day and rarely plays with cat toys. She meets Mom at the door when she arrives back at her apartment. She follows her around the apartment when not taking her naps. She sits beside my Mom on her chair sometimes and wants to be petted. She enjoys her cat perch and the bed for naps. She also likes to sit on the perch on the screened porch and watch the street. She sleeps with Mom on the bed at night. There are no other pets in the house. She is friendly with Mom but avoids strangers by hiding. She does not snuggle but likes to be stroked on her back when she approaches Mom. She lets you know when she wants attention and when she wants to be by herself. She has had no health problems in the last 5 years. She has been examined by our veterinarian each year and is up to date on her vaccinations. She eats twice a day in the morning and late afternoon and meows for treats. She uses the litter box all the time and has never had any accidents. She is cautious around children and usually hides from visiting children.
