Stitch is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH)-mix, male, DOB: 3/28/22
Not so much shy as more reserved, Stitch is a handsome, calm, easy-to-please cat. Friendly and sweet, but also pretty independent, he has a definite comfort-zone he likes to operate in and is generally happier to observe activities early-on rather than directly interacting in them, that is until a feathered toy comes into play.
If the mood suits him Stitch can be very lively and curious about his environment, and once he's comfortable, he’ll be looking for adventure wherever he can find it. He has a great love of toys and, makes use of his independent time by honing his feline skills -- prowling and stalking shadows, dust bunnies, toys, sometimes even other kittens, whatever is available. Stitch also appreciates interactive playtime with his people too. A cat tower will go a long way toward making Stitch happy too as perching and watching the world from his own little sanctuary is one of his favorite just hanging-out pastimes.
Stitch, along with his littermate, Doc: came to Monroe SPCA as kittens from near a feral colony that we subsequently live-trapped in order to TNR. They however were not true feral cats, and would likely not survive on their own outdoors. They were treated for fleas, URIs, Giardia, Coccidia, and Roundworm while with us.
Now a happy, healthy feline, Stitch is looking for his forever home with a family who can give him the time and attention a young cat needs. Although Stitch can be adopted individually, we recommend a pairing with several of our other young cats having compatible personalities and temperament.
Stitch is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a calm, low-active to moderately active lifestyle and no active young children under the age of six (6). He is comfortable with other compatible cats and kittens, and he’ll be comfortable in the presence of well-mannered, cat-friendly dogs after being given some adjustment time to warm-up and settle into his new surroundings. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable animals, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.

You will need to provide us with a copy of your driver’s license or proof of residence, and if applicable, written proof that you are permitted to own/have the pet you wish to adopt on the premises where you reside.
Step Three: Once your application is pre-approved, we will schedule an appointment for you to visit our adoption center to meet the animal or animals you're interested in adopting.
Step Four: Provided the adoption is approved, we will schedule a home visit (video call) and a foster-to-adopt contract will need to be completed and a non-refundable adoption fee accepted.
All members of your household must meet the animal or animals you wish to adopt at our adoption center. If you already have a dog or dogs in the household, we will require a meet-n-greet at our adoption center with all canine members who currently reside in the household prior to adoption approval.
