My story

Meet Abby — 35 lb collie/sheltie/husky/etc mix at around 3-5 years of age.

Abby is a happy girl who LOVES getting attention from anyone. She is a total gentle, fun loving, couch potato, sun-bum. She is calm, gentle, and sweet in demeanor and low-mod energy level.

Here is a list of just some of Abby's great qualities:
- Loves other animals
- gentle, non-destructive, calm
-fine being left alone
- great with cats (in a foster home w/ cats)
- Rides well in the car
- Already a great walking buddy
- No resource/food/possession guarding

Abby was found in grave condition in the beginning of June, mostly hairless, covered in scabs, severely flea/tick anemic, and dumped on the road. She got the care she needed, and eventually was transferred out of the county shelter & into our program! Now, she is happy, healthy, fully vetted & ready for her forever home!

Adoption donation $350 includes spay, DHPP, Bordetella, Lepto, and Rabies vaccines, microchip, and monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Why adoption is a great option

Abby, a Davis Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie for sale in Davis, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie dog from a breeder in Davis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Davis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Davis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Davis paves the way for another one to be saved.
