He already has some basic training under his belt and is house-trained, making him an excellent candidate for anyone looking for a canine companion who`s ready to settle right in. He would be over the moon with a spacious backyard to romp around in (and chase his tail), but what he craves most is quality time with his people.
Whether it`s fetching a ball, going for a run in the park, or simply curling up next to you on the couch for a cozy cuddle session with big snores, he`s always up for any kind of activity that brings him closer to his humans.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
