This is Bitsy. Bitsy is very difficult to get a picture of because she is painfully shy and fearful of handling but we did our best!
Bitsy has been with Chi Town Rescue for over a year now. She is 3 years old now and came to us in October, 2020, surrendered by her owner along with many other dogs (of that group we still have Rose, Joe & Bitsy). It was a hoarding situation and the second time that particular owner surrendered dogs to us. Although Bitsy is still fearful, she has made some progress in her own small ways. She is getting accustomed to being groomed. She is still very evasive when we attempt to touch her, however, she will stand 2 feet away and just stay near and stare at us and she follows us wherever we go. She is also vocal when things get exciting. We know Bitsy is cute in all her white fluffiness but she really does need a home that will be calm and secure so she can’t escape, and have owners that are knowledgeable in handling of fearful dogs; owners willing to work in socializing her with people as well as giving her the time it will take. Any potential adopter must be realistic in expectations and dedicated to allowing whatever time it will take whether it be months or years as well as accept that she may never display trust another typical dog may.
If you are an adopter that can give Bitsy the home that she needs, then please contact Chi Town Rescue to make an appointment to meet her.
