My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please say hello to Marnie (or Marnacle the Barnacle as her foster mom calls her!).  She is a young little Shih Tzu mix - we are not sure what the mix is but it is certainly adorable!  Just look at that underbite! Marnie is about 2 years old and she is a small 15 pounds.  Marnie came to us from Texas with Teddy and they both had a rough start.  But now that they are safe and sound with PMR, a new life is just around the corner!

Marnie is skittish and nervous in new situations (like events) but a ball of fun in her foster home where she knows she is safe and loved!  She is very playful with other dogs and would love to have one in her new home.  She can be a bit spicy at first but quickly warms up   She plays rough with them and lets them play rough with her.  She is a zoomer outside and loves to be chased and play catch me if you can!   Marnie has a fully fenced yard in her foster home and will require one in her new home - no invisible or portable fences.  She would definitely run if she got spooked and you would never be able to catch her!  Marnie is not leash trained and will need to learn that skill in her forever home.  Marnie loves to give kisses and get booty scratches from her foster mom!  She comes running for attention when she sees other dogs getting love and wants in on it.  Once she feels secure, she allows you to pick her up and she is relaxed in your arms.  Marnie is crate trained and loves to be in there with the door open during the day.  She loves toys and chewies too.   She is working hard on her housetraining and will use potty pads in the house too.  Marnie has been around older kids (13+) and did fine.  We know she doesn't have a mean bone in her body but since she is a flight risk, older kids only in her new home.   Marnie will require regular grooming throughout her life.  Marnie may not be a plug in dog but with a little time and patience, she will be a wonderful addition to your home, making you laugh and smile every day!

Marnie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $450
