Meet Doug — the perfect house guest with a gentle heart.

Doug is the definition of a sweet, easygoing companion. He loves cuddling and is happiest when he’s close by, soaking up all the affection you’re willing to give. He’ll happily lean in for pets or wag his tail to let you know just how much your attention means to him.

On walks, Doug is calm, attentive, and well-mannered on leash — a true pleasure to handle. At home, he enjoys playing with his toys and entertaining himself with a gentle, happy enthusiasm. When you’re away, you can rest easy knowing he’s fully potty-trained and content to relax on his bed for several hours.

Doug already knows “sit” and is eager to keep learning, especially with a patient, encouraging person by his side. Around other dogs, he’s a bit unsure — curious, but cautious — and prefers to take things slow while he builds confidence at his own pace.

Fill out an adoption questionnaire and get ready to meet with a counselor (same day!)

You'll meet with the pet with one of our adoption counselors or we will connect you with the foster home!

The Adoption Center is open M,T,Th,Fr from 12-7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 12-5pm. The Shelter is closed to the public on Wednesdays.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), proudly operated by the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Montgomery County and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Trained staff provide animals with daily care, mental and physical enrichment, health and wellness checks, and more. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
