My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tender has been in our adoption program searching for a forever home since August 2022! We have lowered her adoption fee to $125.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT-Tender!

Excuse me...would you be my family? My Dad left me and my brother in a shelter when he couldn’t take care of us anymore. We don’t know why or what we did because we were his family since we were puppies. All I know is I was confused and scared.  Thankfully a nice lady came and took me to a home and said she would help me find a family that would love me forever. My foster mom takes care of me and loves me, but I hope to find my very own family soon. Love, Tender

She was tagged for foster on the day of her shelter deadline, and she is continually showing her gratefulness to be out of the shelter to her foster mom. She is extremely human focused and very affectionate.

She is pure love and affection with all people and is ready to find her fur-ever home!

Meet Tender, the lovable senior girl in search of her forever home!

Tender is a seasoned companion with a heart full of love and wisdom. All she wants is to sleep on a blanket next to her human and have them pet her with kindness. Share a Peanut Butter sandwich. Have a teddy bear. Go for a car ride. Smell the roses. And just have someone say Tender you are the BESTEST girl, and you are my dog.

Tender has the calmest temperament. Her favorite thing of all is to be your best friend. This girl loves listening to music, pets from familiar people, scrambled eggs, and long slow walks, this gentle soul has mastered the art of taking treats with gentle grace and walks like a dream on a leash. While Tender prefers the company of people over dogs, her affectionate nature makes her an ideal friend.

She's housebroken, enjoys socializing with people, and loves to sniff around on walks. She adores attention and affection, happily soliciting pets and rolling over for belly rubs enjoying plenty of love and companionship. She loves trying all kinds of new snacks and and chewing on doggie toys. Who doesn’t love those things? She finds solace in carrying around and napping with her beloved stuffies and loves time with her foster mom.

We hope Tender’s story inspires everyone to get involved in saving a dog. Word got out that she needed someone to take a chance on her, well someone did decide to take a chance, her foster mom. She said I just have to save her.

Tender needs to be an only dog and no cats, but she’s such a love and there must be a good fit for her out there.. she deserves her fur ever home.

She would thrive in a home with a person that is retired or works from home who will spend time with her. She is affectionate and loves to give hugs, she adores her humans!

Tender is a 11-years-young spayed female brown and white medium sized Pitbull Terrier mix that weighs 50lbs.

She is crate and house trained.

Tender is looking for a forever home where she will be treated as a member of the family for the rest of her life, an in exchange she promises to give back lots of love, kisses, and devotion.

Tender is spayed, UTD on vaccinations, Heartworm Negative and Micro Chipped.

If  you think Tender might be a  fit at your home, please complete an application on our website and her foster mom will be in touch.

Sweet Tender is accepting applications for her person.

Additional adoption info

Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be up to date current on Heartworm prevention and S/N. If a home visit is needed, we will complete that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fees are listed here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-fees/. There is a 5-day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family. A full refund will be issued if the pet is returned within the 5-day trial period. Before you chose to adopt, check out this link for a few items to consider before making this big step: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/are-you-ready-to-adopt/
