My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cap'n is a unique and beautiful boy looking for an active family to join! He is 5 years old and came to our rescue when his Dad sadly passed away. He is 75lbs and is wicked smart. He is potty trained, crate trained, does great on a leash and in the car. True to his breed he likes to be active and likes to learn things but is also down for a good snuggle. He would be a great running buddy or a great fit for an active person. He does seem to bond particularly close to men and would do best with a male owner in the home. Due to his size and energy we recommend his home have a yard, no small children, and no cats.

Cap'n has been in a board and train program through Midas Touch dog training. True to his breed he can be protective when meeting new people and James his trainer can give specific instructions on how to set Cap'n's family up for success after adoption. His trainers think he is an amazing boy! He can also have a tendency to "herd" the other dogs in his home. This is a common breed trait in cattle dogs. He would do best as an only dog or with another dog that is more laid back.

If you are interested in meeting Cap'n, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoption-application and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com.

Cap'n's adoption fee is $100 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, deworm, heartworm testing.
