Poor Kee-Ni found himself back at the shelter after spending nearly all of his 13 years with a family. It wasn't his fault -- and it wasn't his family's fault, either. His dad died, and his mom had to move to a facility where she wasn't allowed to have a dog. So, tearfully, she returned him to the shelter from which she and her husband had adopted him 13 years ago.

He was uncomfortable in the shelter, scared of the noise and somewhat shy. When we rescued another dog from the facility, the rescue coordinator asked if we would consider helping Kee-Ni. We couldn't say no to this boy in need, so he became a Shamrock.

Kee-Ni is incredibly mellow. He's quiet, calm, and just wanted a place to spend his days. He likes other dogs so would do well in a home with other calm canines. We aren't sure about cats, but we bet he'd be OK with them. He shares his foster home with a hamster, and other than mild interest when first meeting him, Kee-Ni hasn't shown any interest in the little guy.

We know seniors don't get much notice or interest, but we'd love you to consider giving this sweet boy a home. He's so deserving, and he's such a kind soul.
