My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He's clear for take off! Flint is officially ready to find his forever home! He's cute, funny, and playful. He and his littermate were found dumped and tied together, but that's not getting him down! He's working on his social skills. He's been trying to figure out this 'leash walking thing' and does it in his own Flint way-starting out with a crawl. He's a smart pupper and is looking forward to having family that will help him to reach his full potential! Feel free to call the shelter if you would like more info on Flint.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

After choosing the pet you are interested in, we require an adoption application to ensure your environment is a good fit for the pet you have chosen. When you have met and made the final decision to adopt the pet, we require an adoption contract to make certain you will be a good caregiver. Adoption fees are $125.00 for dogs/puppies and $75.00 adoption fee for cats/kittens. All age eligible pets are spayed or neutered prior to completion of the adoption process. If the pet is too young for surgery, you will be provided a date for surgery per the adoption contract. (Included in adoption fee.) If you choose to use your own vet, we will reimburse surgery fees up to the amount our vet is charging. Dogs are heart worm tested, on preventative, spay/neutered (if of age), and have vaccinations up to date, and micro-chipped. Cats are Feline Leukemia/Aids tested, spay/neutered (if of age), vaccinations up to date, and micro-chipped upon request. We also require a vet reference and/or home visit.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter is located on Bivins Road in Ozark, Alabama. Coming from Dothan, take hwy 231 North until you see signs for the rest area. Just past the rest area, turn right on to County Road 30. Go up to the top of the hill. The first paved road to the left is Bivins. Turn left on Bivins. We are around the curve on the right side of the road.

The shelter is open to the public from 8 a.m.- noon 7 days a week. Viewing pets after hours can be made by appointment.

We always need volunteers! All of the animals need someone to walk, pet and play with them. We also have a fenced in exercise area where you can let them off the leash to play. Volunteers are also always welcome to visit with out cats in the cattery.
