My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya!!

My name is Lisette. Such a pretty name don't ya think??

So what we are assuming that is my sister and I, were dumped in small rural town off of a very busy highway.

With us being puppies, of course we do not know to stay away from the road. There's no telling how long ago we had been dumped, if at all. For all we know, our mom was abandoned and ended up having us by herself.

Anyway, we were found all alone and hungry. Some nice person contacted Lucies. There wasn't any room for us there, so one of the sweetest volunteers offered to foster us until room could be made for us.

When we got to the volunteers house, it was noticed that both of our bellies were swollen and distended. Their first thought was that we were both pregnant. From one horror to next, we were actually filled with worms!!!

We were so glad she knew just what to do. She gave us meds and got those nasty things out of us. Hallelujah!!!

Now we are all better and running around and playing at the park with the other dogs. Such a better life than when we started!

Now, it's time for us to have families and homes of our own. I sure do hope you're it!

*** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!

More about this rescue

Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations. We are a dog rescue organization, not a shelter or a pound!

We are a group of neighbors who, as a community effort, are helping the many strays and dumped dogs in the area. We take them in, care for them, feed - vaccinate - worm - socialize, and try to find them forever homes. We do depend on donations to help out, and will accept food, medication, bedding, fostering, and direct donations to Veterinarians.
