Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mirabel is so very curious! Always wants to know what is happening. This is a kittie who likes to explore nooks and crannies and is especially fascinated by water for some reason. She is a big proponent of "if I fits, I sits," and will immediately jump into any new box she finds.
While she may be shy around strangers and in new places, it doesn’t take too long for her to warm up - on some days, a single Chuuru tube has gotten her to go from "hiding in the closet" to "your new best friend".
When it comes to hunting for toys, Mirabel is an extremely dedicated hunter, especially anything on a string. She can jump impressively high! And once she gets her jaw on a toy she will not let it go! She also loves to chase anything she can bat with her paws, and sometimes her own tail.
This sweet cat was found as a kitten and bottle-fed by humans, so she loves affection from her humans! She loves company. She is almost always in the same room as at least one of her humans, and often in someone’s lap. Over time, she may develop her own little addition to your home routines. (For example, when she hears the shower turn on, she immediately runs to the bathroom to sit in one specific spot and watch the water. Lately, her favorite habit is to jump into her fosters' laps and then roll over for belly rubs, while purring so loud that their coworkers on Zoom can hear!)
She likes to greet her humans by firmly flopping onto the floor at your feet and giving a biiiig stretch. Sleeps with her humans at night and wakes them up in the morning by snuggling up to them, licking their hands. Mirabel is partial to being scratched at the base of her tail.

Please be aware that inquiries may not be answered if they are regarding our kittens or cats as singles, whether they are half of a bonded pair, or we have noted that they are not intended to be a single cat. Likewise, if your home is outside of our adoption boundaries, we may not be able to reply to your inquiry.
CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.
At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.
Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.
Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
