My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lovely Moxie has been through so much and needs a loving home that she can finally relax in!

Moxie was seen hanging out by an empty house in Compton for several weeks. Neighbors thought she was abandoned by the people who moved from the home. Sadly, she had been bred several times.

When rescued, Moxie was emaciated and scared. However, it did not take long before she learned that some people are really nice and she can feel safe in the right hands. She is now a butt-wiggling happy doggie, who is excited to go on walks with her furry friends.

We are seeking a foster or forever home with another big calm and friendly dog, as she would love a furry companion. Although she has been sweet to every dog she has met, we don’t want to risk anything not knowing her past, so we will not place her with small reactive dogs.

She is very easy to handle, loves being bathed, and is easy on the leash. She does not bark at other dogs, is house broken and loves affection. She so deserves a loving home after all she has been through. 💕

If you can foster or adopt Moxie, please reach out and let us know. Thank you so much for your time and care.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from various Los Angeles shelters the day they are to be euthanized. Our goal is to help provide animals with a second chance to a happy life and to help reduce pet overpopulation through spay and neuter programs. Once rescued, we place our dogs into loving foster homes while they await adoption. We do not keep dogs in kennels. Placing the dogs in foster homes is the first step to rehabilitation, as it allows us to thoroughly evaluate a dog's demeanor and needs enabling us to make the perfect match of dog and permanent owner. We attribute our high rate of successful placement to our foster program. At Ace of Hearts, we do not discriminate against any breed, including those in the bully breed family. Additionally, Ace of Hearts is dedicated to educating the public on how to be responsible pet owners and on the importance of spaying and neutering. We believe the real solution to pet overpopulation is through spaying and neutering pets.
