Aspen is a true shelter favorite and a dog who has captured the hearts of everyone who meets him. This handsome guy is a total love bug with a gentle soul, and he’s now patiently waiting for the forever home he truly deserves.
Aspen has spent time in the shelter, was adopted, and unfortunately returned due to a food allergy—but with the right care, he is doing great. Aspen is currently on a daily medication for itching, which he takes without issue, and a prescription diet that he happily eats twice a day. These will need to be continued indefinitely, as they have significantly improved his skin condition and overall comfort. We are hopeful to find a committed, loving home that will continue this routine and help Aspen thrive.
Aspen is kennel trained, potty trained, and does well on leash and walks. He is wonderful with children and has a calm, affectionate nature that makes him an absolute joy to be around. One of his most endearing traits? Aspen gives the best hugs on command—a talent that has made him a fast favorite among shelter staff and volunteers.
Aspen would need to be the only pet in the home, as he would not do well living with other dogs or cats. He’s looking for someone who has the time, patience, and love to give a sweet dog who has been overlooked and deserves a true second chance.
Aspen is neutered, fully vetted, and ready to leave shelter life behind for good. Could you be the forever family he’s been waiting for?
If you’d like to meet Aspen, please visit eastshoreha.org to submit a pet application. Once your application has been processed and approved, our team will contact you to schedule your personal appointment to meet Aspen. All dog visits are by appointment only—apply today!

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:
1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.
2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.
Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.
Adoption Requirements:
1. Have verifiable identification
2. Be at least 18 years of age
3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home
4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered
5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier
6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
