My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well, let's talk about the elephant in the room, shall we? Cos, yeah, we know. This nugget is severely overweight, like.... waaaaaaaay overweight. Like his brother, Tommy Tee, he was a lapdog of the highest order, commander of the home and whenever his mama ate a meal, he ate some too - in addition to his dog food. So, We're working hard on helping Trent shed some of his lb's - about 10 or so. Initially, he protested by going on a hunger strike and not eating his kibble. It was as though you could see wheels turning in his pretty little head.... " THIS crap? What is this crap? I want burger meat. Pork chop drippings. French fries." Eventually, he ate some kibble whilst delivering a hearty dose of side-eye, but he's getting the picture.
He's a sweet boy, long English Cream locks that love being brushed, and not super duper active, though he’s feeling more sprightly since loosing some weight.
Although chill most of the time, when the opportunity presents itself with a furry tailed, tree climbing, nut hoarding rodent, they do love to get a good squirrel chase on with all the barking that’s Although chill most of the time, when the opportunity presents itself with a furry tailed, tree climbing, nut hoarding rodent, they do love to get a good squirrel chase on with all the barking that’s expected. Trent & Tommy Tee would do better in a home with NO young children and adult(s) they have time to share with these two lovelies.
If you are interested in adopting Trent, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Trent's adoption fee is $400 and Tommy Tee’s adoption fee is $400 also. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Trent will go to his / her new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations. Almost every dog's veterinary expense exceeds our adoption fees.

DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back.
