My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thumper is a gorgeous grey and white boy who came to us from a high kill shelter, and is adjusting to life at the refuge. Thumper wants to be loved but is very shy, perhaps from not being socialized very much before he came to us. He is looking for a patient, loving family that will give him all the love and attention he needs, but at his own pace. This special boy could blossom with the right care and attention, and will be much happier with a calmer life than he has at the refuge where people often come and go.

Thumper is a cat for experienced cat owners only who understand patience, cat communication/body language and the need to allow the cat to bloom and bond 100% at their own pace over time. The home environment needs to be peaceful and tranquil, with no children under the age of 16. In addition to unrestricted access to a warm, safe home environment, Thumper also requires safe restricted access to the outdoors - for example, a screened porch or safe outdoor area with cat-proof fencing - so he cannot wander away from the safety and care of the home.

More about this rescue

Siglinda Scarpa is a potter and a sculpter who owns 3 acres of fenced-in property in which she houses up to 258 homeless cats. The Refuge is a sanctuary for these cats, who never have to leave, but if they are adoptable, the cats are posted on our website and taken to adoption events in the community. The more cats that we find homes for, the more cats we can rescue.
