Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Have you met Vinnie? Vinnie is a 3.5-year-old Pit Bull mix with lots of energy! This boy has been with us since January 2023 and is ready for a forever family. He's super sweet and playful, and he would also make a great hiking or jogging buddy! He'd prefer a home that has no cats or kids - if there are any other dogs, they have to be female. He's a ladies man and gets along best with his female canine friends! He's got a fun personality and is ready to meet you!

More about this shelter
The mission of the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri is to aid in the alleviation of distress and suffering of animals by operating a shelter in need of care, placing animals in suitable homes, and offering educational programs that promote animal welfare.
We receive our animals from people giving up their pets for a variety of reasons, including changes in family situations and moving. Some of our animals have been strays rescued from the streets by a kind citizen, but all of our animals are looking for permanent, loving forever homes.
