My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Rescue Dachshunds.  Look around and read their bios.  Find a few whose personality seems to fit well.  Consider one of our Well Seasoned Seniors who are truly wonderful and have so much to offer.  Need help finding the best fit?  We'll help with that too.  Please fill out an application and let’s get you all matched up with a loving new “furever’ companion and friend. You’ll find the application on the “Available Dogs” page.  NOTE:   Adoptions to Central/South Texas residents only

Please see FAQs for current adoption fees.  DDRTX only adopts in Central/South Texas.

Bonded with Chip Bean - bonded pair

Holly Bea is a 12 year old double dapple senior gal and weighs around 16 pounds. . Holly is a dream boat of perfection!  Her personality, friendliness and outgoing persona is a joy and a delight.   She and her brother, Chip are very bonded.  Little Miss Holly takes such good care of Chip and watches over him, like she's his "seeing eye companion". it's just adorable and heartwarming to watch these two interact.  Both dogs use the doggie door very well.

Holly and Chip are a bonded and therefore, need to be adopted together!

More about this rescue

Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas is an all volunteer group in the heart of Texas that is dedicated to the health, welfare and happiness of our dachshund friends. We are based in San Antonio, Texas but we have fosters/volunteers in Austin, San Angelo and DFW areas. We are a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. As such, we must rely heavily on donations and contributions to be able to pay the costs of health care, administrative needs, and other necessary expenses for each of our dachshunds. Diamond Dachshund has rescued, rehabilitated and placed approximately one hundred dachshunds each year since our incorporation in 1998. That's a lot of happy, healthy dogs and equally happy families! We strive to find the right home for each dog's individual personality and needs, so that the placement is permanent and both the dogs and the humans who adopt them, are equally happy.
