My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scooby Doo is an incredibly unique doberman/malinois mix (per DNA test)! Scooby is the GOOFIEST dog in the world. He has basic obedience training, is crate trained, housebroken and gets along with other large dogs. Scooby loves to cuddle with his humans, going on adventures and play play playing.

Scooby has the genetics of 2 breeds known for their protective temperaments. Genetics will always play a part in his character, so he will need proper introductions to strangers- especially those entering his territory. Scooby has come a long way learning to trust strangers and disengage but he will need an adopter who is experienced with working breeds.

Scooby is NOT a working candidate. He has a lot of environmental sensitivities. He is a big old scardey-cat. His barking may make you think he’s tough, but alas, he is not. He needs someone who will be a fair but gentle leader and who will continue his training with dedication. This boy is smart as a whip if you know how to listen to him and speak to him in a way he understands.

Scooby is medium energy and his perfect adopter would be an active person who can take him on many adventures!

Scooby would probably be ok with older kids, but he has not been officially tested yet- will update once he is.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If you see a pet you’re interested in or you don’t but you would like to adopt from our organization anyway, please fill out an application!

2.

Meet the Pet

We set up first meet and greets in a public location for you to get to know the dog(s) you’re interested in.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do require a second meet and greet, which also helps if you’re torn between multiples! We encourage you to meet at least 2 dogs!

4.

Home Check

If the home check is goes well and everyone is still confident, the contract is signed, fee paid and your new dog can stay that day!

More about this rescue

We are long-time animal lovers working hard to reduce the number of euthanized dogs in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to house and employ veterans, teach them how to prepare a dog for adoption and should they wish, reach them to run a successful rescue so they may take our model and open one anywhere there’s a need of Veterans and K9’s alike!
