My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi There! My name is Beezer!

I was found wondering the streets of Austin, TX, & I am so happy SPR came along to give me a second chance at a good life. My foster mom can't believe anyone could ever let me go because I am such a sweet, sweet boy.

I'm around 4 years old and weigh 10 pounds. I have some apricot patches, but this is not uncommon with Bichons.

My foster mom says I'm 100% cute, 200% sweet, & 1000% deserving of a wonderful fur-ever home.

I love to go on walks. I get so excited I can't even sit still to get my harness on. Then I grab the leash itself telling who ever is walking me that I'm ready to go!!

I love playing with my toys. And I'm a really good fetcher...unless something distracts me. In that case I just come running back to you & launch myself toward your face to give you kisses.

I'm a little hesitant with strangers or new people because I came off the mean streets, where people weren't very nice to a stray dog. But I am very interested in meeting new people. In fact, even though I may bark at them initially when approached, as soon as they turn their back I'm creeping behind them to get a sniff 🙃 My foster mom says I just need more time to learn to trust and of course more love!

I don't really like being left alone or in my crate when my foster mom goes to work. I bark & squeal to tell her to come back. It's not that I'm a bad or needy boy, it's that my former owners abandoned me and I'm afraid she may leave me too. Therefore I hope my furever home has someone who can be around a lot for me.

When I'm home with my foster mom, we play for a bit, I eat some treats, and then I snuggle up by her as she gets some work done.

Or if it's housework she has to do, I'm by her side lending her emotional support, supervision, and a good excuse to take a break to play with me!

I'm very curious and want a friend to play with or a human to play with me.

I love to go for rides. I love to go anywhere actually. I'm just so curious and excited to see the good that is out in the world and anxious to give my new family all the love I have.

Please consider adopting me!

Children in the home need to be at least 10 years old. Beezer will need a small young dog already living in the home chosen for him or someone that is home most of the time, as well as a home without cats. ***There are no exceptions to this***
