My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Goofy, hound mix with a heart full of energy and a passion for adventure. Despite his age, Goofy's spirit is as lively as ever, and he's always ready to explore the great outdoors, especially if it involves hiking and sniffing out every intriguing scent along the way.

One of Goofy's most endearing qualities is his love for companionship, both human and canine. He gets along famously with other dogs and thrives in their company during playtime. However, it's important to note that Goofy can be a bit protective of his toys and may exhibit guarding behaviors. With proper training and understanding, this behavior can be managed effectively.

When it comes to mealtime, Goofy prefers to enjoy his food without any sharing involved. He can be a bit possessive of his food around other dogs, which is a behavior that can be addressed through positive reinforcement training and patience.

Despite his quirks, Goofy is a loving and loyal companion who is eager to find his forever home with a family who appreciates his zest for life and shares his love of outdoor adventures. If you're looking for a hiking buddy with a heart of gold, Goofy might just be the perfect match for you. Come meet him today and discover the joy of adding this delightful hound mix to your family!

Additional adoption info

Our dogs are special to us, so we do check references and may require home checks for adopters. Most of our dogs come from kill shelters, dumped or abused. Some maybe needy or in need of training.

Our adoption fees vary depending on the medical needs of the dog and cover all shots up to date according to the age of the dog, all required testing for diseases, spay or neutering of dogs (age appropriate), micro-chipped and transport fees (if we transport the dog).

We required a submitted application along with 3 non-related references. Please be patient, we are an all volunteer organization, we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Go meet their pets

We have events in Central Arkansas area and New England area. We operate through dedicated fosters. If you are not in Central Arkansas we can send you video or even do face time to allow you to see how the dog interacts with other dogs and fosters. We also can do live video with Periscope application for smart phones.

If the dog is not in your area we can transport to a local foster in your area. Transport usually takes 3-5 days depending on your location and method of transport.

More about this rescue

We're an all volunteer group of concerned citizens committed to animals in need of rescue. We are passionate about spaying/neutering to end unnecessary euthanasia due to pet over-population. We rescue from local high kill shelters and abandoned dogs. To adopt go to http://www.kcpetrescue.org/adoption-application.html
