My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Say hello to Kody, a 2-year-old Husky/Border Collie mix, weighing about 48 pounds. Kody was surrendered by his previous owner. Kody had been an outdoor dog and was very timid and fearful of people, refusing to join his foster brothers and sisters inside the house. In just a few days, Kody started coming out of his shell, showing his foster family the fun-loving, playful, chatty, young dog he is today.

Kody will approach a stranger wagging his big thick hairy tail but will back up if they reach to touch him.
It appears he may have been abused. He will also run and sit by the back door when the other dogs are barking at something or there are loud noises or sounds outside.

After a few days of going in and out of the house with his foster brothers and sisters, Kody became comfortable inside and now wants to be inside with his foster family. Kody is a true gentleman inside and was fully house trained in less than a week. When he wants to go out, he will sit at the door and talk, not bark.

He is great with other dogs large and small. Kody loves to play. He has two foster cat brothers who are very dog savvy. He will sniff/lick them. He ignores them most of the time. But when the two cats play, he wants to join and will chase them, only because they run. Kody is good with children and has been around a child as young as 2.

Kody is a very happy dog. Kody would fit well as a second dog of an active family, who knows about this energetic talkative breed.

Kody has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and has been microchipped.

You can visit at the Salt Lake PetSmart (1830 South 380 West) the third Saturday of each month from 11-2.
